If your story is about standing out from the crowd. Then our story is about finding your passion and following your own path. Are you ready to start your career journey with a company that values practical, real-world skills ?
MK Whistles started with a simple mission – to make great whistles that transcend the ordinary. The company emerged from a humble workshop on the shores of Loch Ness. Fast forward 23 years and today our high-class musical instruments are shipped all over the world, and we are still growing! That means we are in a great position to share our knowledge and experience with talented people like you. People who share our values and want to join us for the next, and most exciting part of our story.
You will be joining a small, dynamic, hands-on team of seasoned professionals who design and manufacture musical instruments. The team come from diverse backgrounds but are all united by their passion for quality and innovation. For us design plays a key role in shaping our products, and now you can too !
When you join MK Whistles you will not only learn how to turn ideas into accomplishments and skills into creations. Gain insights into manufacturing processes and be given the freedom to learn through trial and error. We accept things don’t always go to plan, and sometimes things are difficult but this is the creative space where we learn our most important lessons, and make our best improvements.
MK Whistles are offering a unique internship enabling you to gain business insights and get involved in the operations and systems more generally. You’ll get the chance to run with a specific and mutually agreed project related to product design. The project could include digital modelling, design drawings, or hands-on prototype manufacturing and testing. Alongside this you'll deliver against routine admin tasks and manufacturing operations which ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the business.
We’re not looking for someone with loads of experience but you would stand out if you have:
· Degree in Product Design, R&D, or Design Engineering
· Experience of Fusion or similar package
· Worked with creative machinery or been involved in arts/crafts projects
· Academic knowledge of manufacturing or engineering practices
· Video editing experience or knowledge of Adobe is desirable but not essential
Everything that exists in a multi-national organisation can be experienced in a micro scale at MK Whistles. This scale makes it easier to see how the cogs mesh together to produce world leading results - we will share with you how a small independent business operates, as well as nurturing your creativity and entrepreneurial flair. Through the experiences we’ll provide, you’ll also learn how to problem solve real-world constraints and overcome challenges which are an inevitable part of the design process.
If you think you have what it takes to join the MK Whistles team then now is the time to take action.
